“Melon’s GPS Voice Navigation scored high with the jury based upon its innovation, UI and ease of use,” said Sarah Miller, founder of the MEAs and CEO of Axis PR & entertainment. “The app is a huge value to anyone who travels internationally, offering benefits other navigation and mapping apps do not, such as the language translations. With mapping becoming a bigger initiative on a global basis, this was an important award to honor Melon Mobile with.”
Dubbed the “Oscars” of Mobile, the annual Mobile Excellence Awards recognize the leaders in global mobile entertainment and technology in every area of the ecosystem, including: start-ups, content providers, entertainment, apps and handsets, brands and more. Among the other awardees selected in 24 categories this year are industry giants such as Turkcell and Samsung, as well as prominent names in the entertainment industry (Electronic Arts and Dreamworks Animation SKG).
"We congratulate all the winners of the 6th Mobile Excellence Awards who demonstrated innovation, creativity and over-all growth to help better the future of the industry as a whole,” Ms. Miller said. “This year’s awards were extremely competitive. We have had record breaking submissions making it a very hard judging process."
The winners of 2013 Mobile Excellence Awards were determined by an undisclosed panel of judges from top-tier business and technology companies. The winning entries must score high on five key criteria: strategic Initiative, impact of technology used in the industry, creativity, ease of use and reach, and execution & proven success in the market.
We would like to express our appreciation to the MEAs and their founder, Sarah Miller, in particular for believing in GPSVN’s worth all along.
